Reviews diagnostic and assessment practices, goal setting, treatment planning, multicultural, legal, and ethical issues in the field of addictions counseling to include gambling, sexual, eating, alcohol, and drug. A systematic approach to treatment will be emphasized along with various theoretical approaches. The focus of the class is clinical and students are expected to participate as appropriate.
