Catalog description

Explores reasoning as a fundamental human activity, tracing its development from ancient rhetoric to modern critical thinking and viewing logic as part of the broader arts of discourse and persuasion. Students will analyze and map arguments, learn about deductive, inductive, and probabilistic reasoning, and practice writing critically and persuasively. They will learn to apply logical reasoning to real-world issues in ethics, law, and technology.
