The 90-hour practicum course emphasizes the observation of the application of nursing administration principles in healthcare leadership roles. Building on prior observation experiences, students transition into actively engaging in administrative practice under the guidance of their preceptor and faculty mentor. Focus administrative principles areas include budget development, staffing and scheduling, policy implementation, quality improvement initiatives, strategic planning, and data collection, focused on the practicum. Students collaborate with their preceptor and faculty to develop measurable practicum objectives that align organizational priorities and leadership competencies to set forth the administrative collaborative health project. The student is required to complete 90 hours in a face-to-face setting.
