Catalog description

This course utilizes clinical and theoretical concepts to assist senior level nursing student’s transition and socialization into professional nursing practice across health care delivery systems. Emphasis is on mastery of competencies, confidence in the provision of evidence-based culture specific safe nursing care to high-risk individuals, patients, and families requiring complex nursing care. Students synthesize evidence-based knowledge, and demonstrate clinical judgment, problem-solving, priority-setting, time management, patient advocacy, and safe clinical practice as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team. This course has 2 hours lecture and 3 hours of lab or 126 clinical hours.
