This course introduces students to the principles of human genetics through the lens of clinical diagnostic methods and applications. Genetics, including the rules of inheritance, transmission genetics, genes in populations, the molecular basis of gene structure, function, expression, evolution, and their diagnostic applications in the clinical laboratory will be discussed.
