Contemporary American Lit

Catalog description

This course focuses on American literature from World War II to the present, considering works in their socio-historical contexts such as the Cold War, the Civil Rights movement, the Vietnam War, the Environmental Movement, and the post-9/11 era. In addition to novels, short stories, and poetry, this course may also include an examination of non-fiction such as the New Journalism, as well as documentary film.
