Catalog description

This course teaches the communication skills necessary for professional settings. The focus of this course includes effectively communicating specialized knowledge, methods, or analysis with precision to varied audiences. The course emphasizes writing as an intellectual, social process, one that requires students to write multiple drafts, to understand their audience, to consider and reflect upon their purposes for writing, and to engage in collaboration with peers. Students will engage technologies to correspond, report, and present ethically. The Technical Communication course teaches students to write multiple genres common to the professional workplace from personal and professional correspondence to creating and presenting their own research.
