Catalog description
Introduces students to writing as a process of inquiry and research within the humanities. This course emphasizes how writing allows us to ask questions, interpret evidence, and communicate complex ideas about culture. Through engagement with cultural texts—literary, visual, musical, journalistic, new medial, and material—students will learn to analyze and synthesize information, develop original arguments, and reflect on the social and ethical dimensions of humanistic study. Writing, in this course, is not only a skill but also a method of discovery and a means of understanding the world critically.
