Dance Pedagogy

Catalog description

This course will immerse students in the practice and theory of dance pedagogy. Students will acquire a range of skills in dance teaching, supplemented by theoretical discussions, scholarly readings on dance education, and experiential learning. Throughout the course, students will prepare short lesson plans and will practice teaching these lessons to their peers. The course will conclude with a final teaching demonstration, during which students will apply the pedagogical skills they have gained throughout the semester.
