Catalog description
This course provides an in-depth examination of the role of forensic science in the criminal justice system. Students will explore the techniques and technologies used to collect, preserve, analyze, and present evidence in criminal investigations, as well as legal standards of admissibility, chain of custody, forensic psychology, and landmark cases in the development and application of forensic science. Topics include crime scene investigation, forensic entomology, junk science, and the legal and ethical considerations surrounding forensic evidence.
