Sports Communication

Catalog description

This course explores how communication occurs in many types of sporting contexts. This occurs interpersonally between player and coaches, between fan culture and teams, sports media, as well as important topics like race, nationalism, and gender in sport. The goal is to help students understand the impact of sports on contemporary society and how that meaning is communicated to different audiences and actors.
