Catalog description

This course introduces students to the concepts and techniques of archaeological laboratory methods. Through this course, students gain hands-on experience and learn how to properly catalogue and analyze a range of archaeological materials. The class is designed to provide the archaeological context of the artifacts that are analyzed, elaborating on the environmental, cultural, and historical background of the site or sites. The course stresses qualitative and quantitative methods and the integration of laboratory analysis, research design, and archaeological interpretation.
