Leadership for Pre-Traumatic Events

This course is designed to prepare professionals to enter tragic situations while maintaining their humanity. The course readings will focus on the biological responses that one should expect when confronted with traumatic circumstances. Course videos will include interviews with current professionals who will share their professional exposure to traumatic environments, and additionally the leadership wisdom that they have gained to help prepare and lead women and men under their charge. The focus of this course is not on tactics or strategies for specific professions or situations, rather the student will gain broad knowledge for developing the interpersonal and intrapersonal skills that will enable students to be ready to lead when the unexpected and unthinkable happens.
