Catalog description

Prerequisites: NURS 3440, 3441, 4345, 4201, 4260, 4550. NURS 4550 may be taken concurrently. Corequisite: NURS 4750. This comprehensive clinical immersion guides the student to apply concepts associated with the human lifespan, which may be applied to individuals, families, and community groups in various stages of illness, including critical care. The lifespan clinical immersion provides a basis for leading and managing complex health patters and specific pathophysiological processes of pediatric, adult, and elderly clients. Through application of the nursing process students learn to provide complex therapeutic nursing interventions. Continued development of communication skills, professional development of the nurse, knowledge of growth and development, teaching/learning principles, ethical/legal, and economic issues are incorporated throughout the course.
