Catalog description

Prerequisites: MATH 2010 and (MATH 3070 or MATH 3470 or MATH 4470 or MATH 5470) and CSC 2310 and (CSC 2700 or MATH 2610 or MATH 3400). Basic concepts of reverse engineering and general techniques used for reverse engineering. Reverse engineering applied to basic static and dynamic analysis of executables, and hands-on exercises using software analysis tools and best practices. Additional topics may include the study of malware behavior and techniques that malware uses to thwart detection and analysis.
