Clinical Immersion

Catalog description

Prerequisite: Junior or Senior standing in chemical engineering or other engineering discipline, or consent of the instructor. This course focuses on team-based identification of unmet medical needs and development of robust solutions. Select disease conditions will be discussed and technologies used to address those conditions will be examined. Students will participate in simulation lab and clinical immersion for experiential learning in hospitals, urgent care facilities, assisted living facilities, senior citizen centers, and/or other healthcare settings.
