Catalog description

As signal perception is well studied in plants, students will use plants as a model to explore how organisms perceive external and internal cues such as light or nutrition, describe how environment alters developmental programing within the cell, and use molecular mechanisms to develop hypotheses on the impacts of a changing environment on development and/or behavior. In this course, students will gain working knowledge of the cues to which organisms respond, protein and gene regulation, cellular signal integration, and existing tools that scientists use to explore such questions.
