Pharmacy Law and Ethics

Catalog description

This required course examines the legal, regulatory, and ethical principles that shape pharmacy practice in the United States and Tennessee. Students will study statutes, regulations, policies, and professional standards governing the medication-use system, including medication manufacturing, distribution, prescribing, dispensing, patient care services, and pharmacy-based clinical practice. Emphasis is placed on developing students’ ability to locate, interpret, and apply pharmacy law and ethical decision-making frameworks to real-world professional practice. Emerging legal, policy, and ethical issues will be incorporated throughout the course to support students’ readiness for licensure, patient care, and professional responsibility.
