Catalog description
This required course advances students’ knowledge of the research process, study design principles, biostatistical applications, and methods for critically evaluating biomedical literature to support evidence-based patient care. Students will learn how to develop hypothesis-driven research questions, apply core study design elements, and use appropriate biostatistical techniques in research. The course emphasizes assessing the appropriateness of study designs to evaluating health outcomes and applying critical appraisal skills to biomedical literature. Students will practice locating, analyzing, and synthesizing research findings to inform clinical decision-making, and integrating findings to patient care.
