Catalog description

This required introductory pharmacy practice experience (IPPE) builds from PHCY 1401 and will occur longitudinally across the spring semester of the first professional year in a community pharmacy setting. Students will spend 4 hours per week at a community pharmacy working with their assigned preceptor to practice the knowledge and skills learned in the curriculum while learning about the role of a pharmacist in community pharmacy practice. Through co-curricular assignments and small group discussions, students will appreciate the attitudes and values of the pharmacy profession that contribute to their professional identity formation. Students are expected to routinely professionally interact with peers, preceptors, and patients.
