Catalog description

This required course introduces the fundamental principles of nonsterile and sterile dosage form design, methods of preparation, routes of administration and delivery. Students will learn about the importance of the physical and chemical properties of drugs (pKa, log P, solubility, permeability, stability), and excipients that contribute to preparation and manufacturing of different dosage forms which influence the onset, intensity, and duration of action of the dosage form. The course includes non-sterile and sterile product best practice, aseptic techniques, and applications and guidelines of USP <795>, <797> and <800>.
