Catalog description

GR This course introduces the basic machine learning paradigms. Students will participate in a two hour journal club-style discussion of historical and topical literature on a particular learning paradigm every other week. The following week, a seminar on current research in the previous week’s topic will be presented. Mid-term, in consultation with the instructor, the students will identify a biomedical/healthcare area of interest that may benefit from the application of AI/ML. The course culminates with the students submitting a literature review on that outlines the deficits in the knowledge on the topic that could addressed by AI/ML.
