Catalog description

Community Design explores how planning and design processes can be used to strengthen communities and improve the quality of life. The course examines theories and practices of participatory design, community engagement, placemaking, and neighborhood development. Students analyze social, spatial, and equity issues affecting communities and apply community design methods, including observation, mapping, stakeholder engagement, and project development, to address local planning and design challenges.
