Catalog description

This course provides a contemporary overview of the Free Speech and Religion Clauses of the First Amendment. Using Supreme Court cases, this course examines the limits of free speech, including incitement, defamation, obscenity, commercial speech, and hate speech, as well as the legality of restrictions on the time, place, and manner of expressive activity.
