Catalog description

(Formerly NURS 436). The course provides a theoretical background for the practice of community health nursing. It is based on the synthesis of nursing theory and the public health sciences. Emphasis is on health promotion, health maintenance, and disease prevention among population groups. The course assists students to recognize and analyze, the interrelationships between individuals, families, population groups, and communities in determining the health status of each. The impact of political, economic, social, environmental, and cultur.il concerns, on the health of populations, is examined. Three lecture hours each week.
