(SOCI 3600) Development and change in the family as a social institution are examined through the use of cross-cultural materials. Topics include the development of family expectations and roles, cultural conditioning and learning, emotional interaction, mate selection, and family unity. Attention is paid to changes currently affecting the American family. Required of all Sociology majors.
