Catalog description

This course introduces students to the basic concepts of epidemiology, health promotion, disease prevention, and their impact on the health status of culturally diverse and vulnerable individuals, families, small groups and communities. The focus is on health problems and potential interventions throughout the life of an individual. The principles of teaching/learning and the process of critical thinking are incorporated as they apply to the health professional.
