Catalog description

A course which introduces systems engineering design as an interdisciplinary approach and enables the systematic realization of successful engineering systems. The course focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality in the systems development, documenting requirements, and then proceeding with design synthesis and analysis. The link of systems engineering to the fundamentals of decision-making theory, engineering statistics, and economics will be presented. A comprehensive design project is required leading to a technical report and an oral presentation. Corequisite(s): ENGR 2000
