Intervention Strategies for Supporting Children with Developmental Disabilities

This course explores a variety of educational and theoretical teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners with different abilities. Students will learn how to implement multi-factored assessments, write Educational Team Reports (ETRs), and identify individual learning needs. The course offers an in-depth examination of the processes involved in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), differentiating curriculum, applying the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and designing targeted interventions to support students in inclusive, self-contained, and resource settings. Field study experiences provide opportunities to apply course concepts in real-world settings. EDCI 4620 Field Study in Education EDSE 4640 Assessment in the Inclusive Classroom EDSE 4660 Family Involvement and Professional Collaboration This course is required for majors in the Integrated Early Childhood Education program.
