Catalog description

This course reviews and builds upon components of foundational literacy. The emphasis in this course is on all aspects of the English Language Arts (reading, writing, listening, speaking) with a focus on disciplinary literacy, including vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, writing, and assessment and intervention. 15 Weeks EDCI 2200 Field Study in Education II EDLI 4500 Foundational and Disciplinary Literacy Instruction and Assessment EDCI 4550 Methods in Teaching Elementary Mathematics EDCI 4600 Methods in Teaching Elementary Science EDCI 3300 Foundation of Second Language Acquisition & Teaching English as a Second Language This course is required for the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and the Bachelor of Science in Integrated Early Childhood Education programs.
