Catalog description

A course designed to explore concepts, strategies, and methods including the use of technology used in teaching mathematics to elementary students. Emphasis is given to instructional and assessment methods that enable teachers to work with students’ abilities in order to build a foundation for increasing their understanding of mathematics for future academic success and college and career readiness. The course content is aligned with recommendations by the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Principles and Standards for School Mathematics and the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Math. Co-requisites: EDCI 2200 , EDCI 4600 , EDCI 3300 , and EDLI 4500 . Corequisite(s): EDCI 2200 , EDCI 4600 , EDCI 3300 , and EDLI 4500
