Methods and Assessment for ESL and Second Language Learners

Catalog description

This course focuses on content area literacy for K-12 English language learners and other language minority students. This course will focus on developing content-based instruction in science, mathematics, and social sciences, and the integration of technology for English language learners and World English speakers. Content area standards will be examined with the goal of pairing them with language objectives so that ELLs and World English speakers are provided access to both content and language. Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL), social media, digital technologies, and various other forms of technology will be introduced as supplements to traditional teaching and learning.
