Anxiety and Pain Control

Catalog description

This reading-intensive course is an introduction to the principles of local anesthesia including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, armamentarium, injections, complications, nitrous oxide analgesia administration, neurophysiologic considerations, and laboratory application of techniques. The lecture will be hybrid using asynchronous micro-lectures via eLearn. Active learning activities will take place in each class session in person. Laboratory practice will be in-person, on-campus in a clinic setting supervised by Tennessee licensed registered dental hygienists.
