The Building Energy and Built Environment is to equip students in architectural engineering with sufficient fundamental knowledge on building mechanical systems, building energy conservation, and the built environment for human comfort and health. Topics include moist-air properties and the psychrometric chart, indoor air quality, and thermal comfort. air conditioning systems and processes, heat transfer in buildings, solar radiation, space load calculation, and energy analysis. In this course, students will learn ASHRAE standards related to building energy and the built environment, and use Trane Tracer to do building load calculation and energy analysis
