Catalog description

This course is intended to equip students with the knowledge needed to combat biological threats such as bird flu and introduced pests. Advancements in detection technologies for food protection and molecular approaches in developing modern diagnostic technologies to ensure the safety of food supplies will be addressed. Students will also learn advanced molecular techniques and their applications in the detection and characterization of biological and chemical hazards in food and agricultural products.
