Catalog description

This course introduces students to the fundamental principles and practices of soil, plant, and water analysis. Emphasis is placed on proper sample collection, preparation, laboratory procedures, and the use of modern analytical instrumentation. Students will gain hands-on experience with common laboratory techniques while developing skills in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting. In the latter part of the course, students will work in groups to design and conduct an independent research project using one or more analytical instruments, culminating in a written report and oral presentation. Three lectures.
