Introduction to Agribusiness Economics is the first of the series of a two courses in the area of Agribusiness. This is an introductory course covering the application of economic principles to problems of resource allocation in agribusiness firms. This course is designed to develop an understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles of economics as they apply to the food and agricultural industry. Emphasis is given to the application of economic principles in the production and consumption of food and fiber products. The course is intended to provide the student information concerning the role, scope, and importance of the food and agriculture industry in today’s American economic system and discus application of economic principles in the decision-making process.
