Catalog description

Integrates the principles and concepts of mental health, psychopathology, and treatment modalities for individuals across the lifespan suffering from mental health disorders and substance abuse. Emphasis is on the nursing care of individuals, families, and groups in acute psychiatric and community settings, with the development of clinical reasoning skills for the professional nursing role in psychiatric/mental health. Majors only. Prerequisites: NUR 355, NUR 375, and NUR 385. Corequisites: NUR 400, NUR 415, and NUR 430. Offered in Fall semester.
