Community and Population Health Nursing

Catalog description
Introduces population-focused nursing practice through theoretical and practical applications. Emphasis is placed on identifying determinants of health, advocating for vulnerable populations, prioritizing primary prevention, and exploring available resources and health policies to improve the care of populations. Utilizes clinical reasoning skills to develop a community-centered project that fosters health promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention. Majors only. Prerequisites: NUR 355, NUR 375, and NUR 385. Corequisites: NUR 400, NUR 415L, NUR 425, and NUR 430. Offered in Fall semester.
