Catalog description

An introduction to Western music and styles from the Middle Ages to the Classical Period. Stylistic cognizance is acquired through examination of prevailing musical idioms, forms and literature. Composers, performers and historical figures that influenced music history are also examined briefly, as well as terminology and vocabulary common to musicology. Prerequisites: MUS 132 and MUS 124. Offered Fall semester
