Catalog description

This course serves as the introductory course to the Global Studies major. The primary goal of this course is to help students develop global literacy through an interdisciplinary approach to world issues. Students will consider global trends from fields including history, economics, politics, geography, and environmental science, and will explore issues related to demography, human rights, and conflict, among others. We will also explore the status and shape of Christianity around the world and consider how our Christian faith impacts our responses to global concerns. This course will also introduce students to research tools for global studies and will discuss vocational opportunities as well.
