Auditing I (w/ Data Analytics)

Catalog description

A study of how professional auditors serve the public, stockholders and management by impartially examining the accounting records and financial statements of enterprises. Topics to be studied include: standards, ethics of the profession, internal control procedures, risk assessment and the nature of audit evidence. The course will include the use of various data analytics tools and techniques focusing on quantitative analysis, depicting data visually, managing large volumes of data, deriving insights for risk assessment, audit planning and documenting audit evidence. Prerequisite: ACC 342 or permission of instructor.
