Catalog description

This course provides foundational knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and the structure and function of the body across the lifespan, including common pathologies and psychological responses to illness. Students explore the 11 major organ systems and develop the ability to accurately interpret and apply medical language in both wellness and disease states. Emphasis is also placed on pharmaceutical principles, including drug classifications, dosage calculation, safe medication administration techniques, patient education, and the identification and reporting of medication-related risks and errors.
