Basic Counseling Skills

Catalog description

This course introduces students to foundational counseling skills essential for effective human services practice. Students will learn and practice core techniques such as active listening, empathy, rapport-building, and interviewing strategies. Emphasis will be placed on ethical standards, culturally responsive interactions, and basic problem-solving methods necessary for supporting client populations.
