Catalog description

AI and the Law will address the rapidly growing and changing world of Artificial Intelligence, how the law affects AI and how AI affects the law. We will look at what AI is, its promises and pitfalls. We will examine intellectual property issues, specifically copyright, trademark, rights of publicity and trade secret as they apply to AI. The course will also explore the many ways being used to regulate AI, both legal and practical, domestically and abroad. We will look how AI has and will affect the practice of law, and how it will impact other industries, including the entertainment industry. There will be an exam, a practical project and a research project, as well as presentation of the results of your projects. This is the most cutting edge area of the law, and of society. Here is your opportunity to begin to understand it from its earliest days.
