Catalog description

Prerequisite: MAT 162 or MAT 127. A gateway to upper-division mathematics with an emphasis on mathematical structures, techniques of proof, and the effective written and oral communication of mathematical ideas. Designed to ease the transition from lower-division mathematics to more theoretical courses such as abstract algebra and real analysis. Students are required to submit written work and make oral presentations. Offered every semester.
