Thematic and narrative treatment of the war and its implications for the history of North America in the 19th century and beyond; the emergence of the United States as a hemispheric power; the future of Canada-US relations. The war as an aspect of 19th century British imperial history; impact on North American Indigenous Peoples. Offered occasionally.
