Catalog description
Prerequisites: AAD 251 and AAD 252; upper-division status. Introduction to the principal thoughts and concepts of Chinese and Japanese art and its relevance to the philosophies of Buddhism, Zen tradition, Taoism, and Confucianism. Includes comparisons with Western art and brief histories of Eastern civilizations as frameworks for the understanding of Eastern aesthetic and philosophical concepts as presented in works of art.
