Catalog description
Prerequisites: AAD 252 or instructor permission. The principle concepts in the art of China, Japan, and India. The relevance of the philosophies of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Zen tradition, Taoism, and Confucianism to the development of Asian art. Brief histories of civilizations as frameworks for understanding aesthetic and philosophical Asian concepts. Offered alternate years.
