Prerequisite: CIS 151. Introduce the organization and function of various components in a computer system. Covered topics including data representation, digital logic circuits, the CPU, memory, bus, instruction set architecture, machine and assembly languages, and parallel processing; discuss the interaction of system components; analyze computing performance issues.
